Lore
Political parties have been an aspect of Willemstani politics and elections since the very beginning. Historically, the Willemstan Extremist Political Party was the dominant political party in Willemstan. This is because Willemstan operated under a one-party system from 2018 until 2020. This was supposed to eliminate the conflict found in many nations practicing 2-party systems, and was also implemented for laughs. However, the New Articles of Willemstan transformed the election process and ended the one-party system in 2020, allowing for the formation of new political parties. All candidates have the option of running for the WE-PP, or establishing a new political party with other candidates.
New political parties formed for the first time during the Winter 2020 Election. These were the Willemstan Reactionaries Party and the Willemstan Scientific-Industrial Socialist Party. In 2021, new legislation was passed declaring that a political party must have at least 2 members in order to be valid. This resulted in the disbandment of the Willemstan Reactionaries Party and Willemstan Scientific-Industrial Socialist Party, as nobody ran under either of those parties during the Summer 2021 Election. However, a new political party, the Capitalist United Militarists (CUM Party) was founded during that election, and quickly became the largest new party in Willemstan's history. A candidate from the CUM Party won the Summer 2021 Election, and so the WE-PP was defeated for the first time. This trend continued in the Winter 2021 Election and Summer 2022 Election, when the CUM Party defeated the WE-PP twice more. As a result, Willemstan's political system has now degenerated into a two-party system, with the CUM Party appearing to be the successor to the WE-PP.
Willemstan Extremist Political Party (2018 - 2021)

History and Information
The Willemstan Extremist Political Party (or WE-PP for short) was founded in 2018 for the one-party system and represents a wide range of views. The WE-PP has had a total of 11 different candidates for the Willemstan Elections. The most successful was Annie Payton, who won his election with 51.6% of the vote and was the first animal to run for Dictator. Lucy the Goose was technically the first female candidate to run for Dictator, and she ran under the WE-PP. Citizens had never shown discontent with the WE-PP as it was designed to encompass any beliefs. Candidates were allowed to run their platforms on almost anything, and were forced to share this party for a number of years, which resulted in divided opinions. Today, the WE-PP is threatened by the CUM Party, which has dominated the last three elections. With no WE-PP candidates in the most recent election, the WE-PP may finally be defeated.
Political Positions
Political positions of the political party were rather mild to nonexistent at first, but beginning in 2019 the party shifted towards extremism and nationalism, with some candidates' views advocating for total reforms. The earliest example of this was Joey Badra's call to "Make Willemstan Great Again". Other extreme candidates included Lucy and Goose and Sean Kavanagh.
The party generally favors preserving Willemstan tradition, whatever that means today. The party favored running pets as candidates in the past, even appointing one as Dictator at one point, but in late 2019 opinions began to shift, and by 2020 the party has reversed their view and currently advocate for a total ban on non-human candidates. This shift was caused by widespread disapproval of Annie Payton's Dictatorship. Legislation to ban non-human candidates was first introduced during Sean's First Dictatorship, and was further re-enforced during Eli Payton's Second Dictatorship.
During the Winter 2021 Election, several WE-PP candidates supported the idea of oppressing the freshmen in Willemstan and "member quality control". Other positions included server event reforms, punishment system reforms, and taking suggestions from the average citizen.
Election Performance
For the Summer 2018 Election, the WE-PP had two candidates. Their only significant opposition were a mass of illegitimate candidates. Josue Mejia won the election for the Willemstan Extremist Political Party with 47.4% of the vote.

Willemstan Reactionaries (2020 - 2021)

History and Information
The Willemstan Reactionaries Party was founded in December of 2020 as a successor of the original Willemstan Reactionaries. The party had a total of 2 different candidates for the Willemstan Elections. The most successful of which was Malcolm Hollingworth, who scored an even 25% of the vote. Their main competition was the Willemstan Extremist Political Party, which typically consisted of candidates against the reactionary agenda or who simply did not support the multi-party system. The party was founded by a member of the Construction Crew (Eli's administration). This party dedicated itself to continuing the legacy of Eli's Second Dictatorship and Willemstan 1.2 It was forced to disband during the Summer 2021 Election due to a lack of members.
Political Positions
The party generally favored keeping elections corrupt and continuing the current Willemstan Economy system. It strongly supported the New Articles of Willemstan. However, there was still some internal debate regarding election proceedings and corruption.
The party was strongly against running animals, pets, and other non-human candidates for Dictator. This was due to a fear that another animal Dictator will degrade into a figurehead, or accomplish little to nothing at all.
The party strongly supported restricting server invites. While they mostly supported widespread invites, there was talk of restricting invite powers to the Dictator and admin team only. The party also supported the continued containment unwanted members, known as the "Willemstani Deviants", and preventing them from interacting with most of Willemstan. This was a system the party members founded while members of Eli's administration.
Election Performance
For the Winter 2020 Election, the Reactionaries had two candidates. Neither candidate won the election.
Willemstan Scientific-Industrial Socialist Party (2020 - 2021)

History and Information
The Willemstan Scientific-Industrial Socialist Party was founded in December of 2020 for Andrew Meyer's run for Dictator. The party had a total of 1 different candidates for the Willemstan Elections. The most successful of which was Andrew Meyer, who had 7.% of the vote and ultimately conceded for the election. Their main competition was the Willemstan Extremist Political Party and the Willemstan Reactionaries. This party was forced to disband during the Summer 2021 Election due to a lack of members.
Political Positions
The party supported reinstating the Willemstani National Market. This meant bringing back its presence as a text channel, and encouraging students of WCS to purchase Willemstan merchandise. The development of new Willemstan propaganda merchandise was also supported by the party. These are similar to the original beliefs of the WE-PP.
The party supports the foundation of a science division. This division was meant to focus on Willemstani projects such as Willemstan alert systems, improvised rubber band weapons, and more.
Election Performance
For the Winter 2020 Election, the Scientific-Industrial Socialists had one candidate. That candidate did not win the election.
Capitalist United Militarists (2021 - Present)

History and Information
The Capitalist United Militarists (CUM Party) was founded on June 3rd of 2021 by Thomas Meyer, during the Summer 2021 Election. Andrew Meyer and Ian Hampton ran under this party during the Summer 2021 Election, making them co-founding members and legitimizing the party under the New Articles of Willemstan. The party has had a total of 6 different candidates for the Willemstan elections. The most successful of which was Izzy Beckhorn, who won the Summer 2021 Election with 39.4% of the point share. The Willemstan Extremist Political Party (WE-PP) was the greatest opposition for the Capitalist United Militarists, as the WE-PP was a significant force during 2021 despite the multi-party system. However, the CUM Party had managed to do what was thought impossible, and defeated the WE-PP in the Summer 2021 Election. The CUM Party has gone on to win an additional two election since then.
Political Positions
The political positions of the CUM Party haven't been defined. No clear consensus exists among the current party members. It seems to have become like the WE-PP, in which there has been a wide variety of candidates with many different ideas. During the Summer 2021 Election, candidates under the CUM Party supported the continued oppression of the Willemstan Deviants, but using a different system than Wee Willemstan. Adding a greater variety of punishments to the Willemstan Salt Mine was also supported. Many of its members also supported restoring the Willemstan Market in the Willemstan Discord Server.
During the Winter 2021 Election, CUM Party candidates supported server event reforms, worshiping of WHS staff members, and taking into consideration the opinions of the Willemstan people. During the Summer 2022 Election, the CUM Party contained candidates on both sides of The Revolution.
